BA (Hons) Journalism and Digital Media

There has never been a more exciting time to get into journalism. This rapidly changing industry has been transformed in recent years by the digital and mobile revolution.

Although traditional journalistic values of determination, curiosity and a nose for a good story are essential, modern journalists also need skills in video and audio, mobile journalism and infographics.

Accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council, this programme equips you for life as a journalist in a multi-platform world. While you need to become adept at using social media and streaming live video, you also learn the essentials of media law, court reporting, news and feature writing and interviewing techniques.

Our popular annual Journalism Day attracts leading industry speakers. Guests have included Martin Bell, John Crace, Rosie Millard and Damian Johnson. Industry contacts, live projects and work experience equip you for employment or freelance work on graduation. Putting all these elements together ensures you develop the wide range of skills required to keep up with the changing demands of work in journalism and associated careers.
