BA (Hons) Photography

The aim of the course is to encourage the development of professional practice and a deeper understanding of the subject from a critical and creative point of view.

The course encourages and values imaginative and individual approaches to photography and you will be encouraged to engage with the subject in a variety of contexts.

Practical work is mixed with theoretical and critical study, lectures, seminars, group critiques and individual tutorials. You will visit galleries and attend workshops and talks from high profile practitioners. The course is affiliated to the British Institute of Professional Photography giving students access to professional critiques and prestigious competitions.

On completion of your BA (Hons) Photography, you can progress to studying for an MA in Creative Practice, teacher training, employment or self-employment in the photographic industries.

Although we use UCAS points as a guide for students coming straight from school or college, entry to all our programmes is by interview and portfolio together with evidence of academic achievement and/or relevant professional attainment.
