BA (Hons) Textiles

With a renewed interest in handmade and bespoke crafts, the BA (Hons) Textiles offers a broad opportunity to discover your individual textiles practice.

The course aims to inspire innovation and creativity in fusing contemporary and traditional skills. You are given your own studio space to develop skills in drawing and design development alongside practical making.

This hands-on programme integrates a wide range of specialisms including print, surface pattern, knit, stitch and dyeing techniques. The programme is committed to cultivating knowledge of sustainability and ethical issues. To bring projects to life we incorporate competitions, live projects and client-led briefs as well as community projects. Students have gained work experience at prestigious practices such as Mulberry, Julien McDonald and Skopos Designs Ltd.

Transferable skills gained during the programme have led graduates to progress to a diverse range of careers including freelance work, designer makers, charity work abroad and visual merchandising. Others have enrolled on PGCE programs for careers in education or engage in post graduate studies. This could be you if you sign up for our BA (Hons) Textiles.
