Foundation Degree Graphic Design and Illustration

The Graphic design and illustration degree utilises visual communication as a means of problem solving for clients, firstly through the development of personal style and process before tapering this individuality into more industry ready skillset.

At the ‘Hull School of Art and Design’ there are many creative opportunities for visual experimentation and students are encouraged to develop their own interests and strengths before ultimately becoming industry aware, ready and capable of succeeding in the creative sector.

Students will begin to create a portfolio of skills and final pieces which will showcase individuality and flair, whilst understanding the professional requirements of the visual communication industries. The programme looks to nurture visual problem solving through the use of creative drawing and thinking, digital manipulation and experimentation for both the fields of graphic design and illustration.

64 UCAS points

Although we use UCAS points as a guide for students coming straight from school or college, entry to all our programmes is by interview (and portfolio/audition for programmes in the Faculty of Arts), together with evidence of academic achievement and/or relevant professional attainment. So please contact us to discuss your individual situation as we actively welcome students from a wide range of educational backgrounds. For us, what you’ve achieved in the past isn’t nearly as important as what we believe you can achieve in the future and we excel at providing the support that helps students succeed, regardless of their previous academic background.
